DockBook Troubleshooting
So what do you do if your monitor doesn’t turn on? Let’s get into some troubleshooting.
First, press a few more keys and click the mouse a few more times, then wait 5-10 seconds.
If that doesn’t work, make sure that the MacBook is fully engaged in the DockBook. Push it in firmly until the spring-loaded black carriage retracts into the housing.
If that doesn’t work, remove the MacBook and reinsert it into the DockBook. Then press some keys and click the mouse again to see if it wakes up.
If that doesn’t work, remove the MacBook from the DockBook and unplug the cables from the DockBook. Then lay the MacBook closed on your desk and plug the exact same cables directly into the MacBook. It’s very important that the MacBook is closed - do not leave the lid open. Try waking up the MacBook now by clicking the mouse and pressing some keys. If this setup does not work, then the problem has nothing to do with the DockBook. Make sure that the keyboard, mouse, display, and power are all properly connected. If any one of these is not connected, the MacBook will not work when closed.
If the setup works when the cables are connected directly to the closed MacBook but not when the MacBook is inserted into the DockBook, either the MacBook isn’t fully inserted or your DockBook is defective. Please contact our support team for next steps.
